RE-OPENING SAFETY GUIDELINES

May 15, 2020

Dear Patient:

We hope this letter finds you and your family safe and in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months because of the Covid -19 pandemic, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. Our #1 goal is the health and protection of both our patients and our team. In accordance, we have created protocols which will allow us to provide the most efficient delivery of treatment.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

Please note the following changes we have made to ensure your safety:

  1. Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.

  2. All Patients will be screened including temperature and if do not pass the screening, you will be reappointed on future dates.

  3. We recommend patients wear masks upon entering the office.

  4. We have hand sanitizer that we advise you to use before you enter the office.

  5. If patients arrive 15 mins or earlier from the scheduled appointment, it is recommended for them to inform Staff that they have arrived and wait in the car. Staff will call them in time when the chair and operatory (room) is available.

  6. Parents with minor children might not be allowed in the treatment room unless approved by Dr. Esguerra.

  7. Only PATIENTS will be allowed in the office. Companions will be asked to wait in their car until treatment is complete.

  8. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.

  9. We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting time for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any given time.

To increase your safety and the staff:

  1. Staff will be screened and readings logged in before the start of the day.

  2. Staff will be using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with CDC guidelines

  3. All rooms will be routinely cleaned and disinfected following CDC guidelines using EPA/CDC approved materials.

  4. We have installed sneezed guards in the reception area for patient and staff safety.

  5. To comply with physical distancing guidelines, we will not use adjacent chairs for patients with no relation.

  6. Appointments will be spaced out in the schedule, so please allow more time for us so we can provide more efficient treatment and lessen recurring appointments.

  7. To reduce and capture aerosols, high vac and air purifier with HEPA filters are provided in the rooms as well.

With all these in mind, we will do our best to ensure we provide our patients the most comfortable treatment with one goal in mind -Safety first. If you have any concerns, we are happy to answer any questions you might have.

We look forward to seeing you again. We will resume our regular hours starting on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Let’s move forward… please call the office at (626) 974-9382 to make an appointment. Until then please stay safe and well.

Thank you for placing your trust, loyalty and confidence in our practice, through these days and through the years.

We love you all,

Dr. Yolanda Esguerra and Staff
